General Information
A RAR file
RAR is the native format of WinRAR archiver. Like other archives, RAR files are data containers, they store one or several files in the compressed form. After you downloaded RAR file from Internet, you need to unpack its contents in order to use it.
How to handle RAR files
WinRAR provides the complete support for RAR files, so you may both create and unpack them. …

Maya 8.5 delivers all the benefits of the Python scripting language – greatly accelerating the development of custom scripts and plug-ins. Using a sample “House” script (i.e. one that randomly generates simple polygonal houses), this video will show you some of the new scripting functionality within Maya (MEL and Python), such as multiple Script Editor tabs, new toolbar icons, and text zooming and scaling. You’ll see how Python has been integrated into Maya at the same level as MEL – with particular focus given to a favorite MEL workflow that has been extended to Python scripting. Finally, you’ll learn how you can take advantage of the sample Python plug-ins that ship with Maya 8.5.

Containers
The addition of containers to the Hypergraph and Hypershade help you simplify the display of complex node hierarchies – an efficient workflow tool when you are working with large, complex graphs. Using a game scene background image, this video will show you:

how to organize the Hypergraph;
group nodes into, and remove nodes from, containers;
use the new Alt-Shift-Drag workflow feature;
and nest containers within other containers.

Maya nCloth
As the first Maya module built on Autodesk’s new Nucleus technology, Maya nCloth lets you quickly direct and control your cloth, and other material simulations in entirely new ways. This two-part demonstration video introduces Maya nCloth’s easy-to-use, interactive workflow by showing you how to create a basic cloth object, apply forces to it, and have it interact with other objects in the scene. In the second part of the video, you’ll learn how to create clothing for a character: including how to tweak nCloth settings, such as stretch and self collide; and how to apply constraints.

Maya Nucleus: Pressure Settings, Denting, and Crushing
Maya Nucleus –Autodesk’s next-generation unified simulation framework – is a linked particle system that interactively simulates a wide range of dynamic entities. Maya’s unique Nucleus technology can be used to create non-cloth simulations – or at least, simulations not typically associated with cloth. In this four-part video you’ll learn ways to create and animate inflatable objects, how to create multiple passive objects for interaction with your Maya Nucleus object (nObject), and how to interactively crush and dent a “metal” nObject. Over the course of the demos you’ll find useful workflow tips, such as how to shape and influence simulation results, even while the simulation is running.

Physical Sun and Sky Shaders; Architectural and Design Shaders
The integration of version 3.5 of the mental ray renderer within Maya provides support for physically accurate sun and sky shading based on real world values such as sun position and atmosphere turbidity. This video gives you detailed information on how the shaders work, and shows you how to apply them and adjust their settings to get precise results.

Maya 8.5 also offers new shaders that streamline the creation of common architectural and design elements. This video focuses on one of Maya’s multi-purpose architectural/design shaders, mia_material. An overview is provided of the shader’s parameters, such as BRDF (Bidirectional reflectance distribution function) and its material presets (wood, ceramic, frosted glass, etc.) – including sample rendered images. Finally, you’ll learn how ambient occlusion can enhance the final results of your rendered image.
