However, when we forgot/lost the domain admin password what can we do?
In fact, there are many methods for reset Windows password, but notice, most of these methods just can reset/recover Windows local administrator or standard user password. Such as :
1. Login safe mode as built-in administrator without password and via Control Panel or Computer Manage to reset their lost account password.
2. Use a password reset disk you have created for the user account password to reset the password include admin and common user password.
3. Recover Windows password with Ophcrack, Offline NT password and other recovery tools.
4. Use a system repair disc to restore system to a time point.
5. Use net user in command line and Lusrmgr.msc in Run box.
And so on…..

Unfortunately these methods cannot recover domain password. Now what we can do is Google for some special methods. But take it easy, I have found it for you, though it is a paid software, but I think it may be the best and easiest way to reset the domain password. Get to the point, now let us see the step-by-step guide to recover domain password with Windows Password Rescuer Advanced.
To recover Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 domain administrator/user password, follow four steps below:
step 1. Create a Windows password recovery disk.
step 2. Set the locked computer to boot from CD/DVD-ROM or USB drive.
step 3. Boot the locked computer from Windows password recovery disk.
step 4. Reset Windows 2008/2003/2000/XP/VISTA/WIN7 local or domain password.

Step 1. Create a Windows password recovery disk.
To create a Windows password recovery disk, you must install Windows Password Rescuer Advanced edition first, and run it to burn the program to a blank CD/USB drive.

DIY a CD/DVD or USB Windows password recovery disk, just about 3 steps:
1. Insert a writable CD/DVD or a blank USB drive.
2. Select Burn to CD/DVD or Burn to USB option, and choose the drive which you inserted from the down list.
3. Click Burn button to start burning, you will successfully complete the burning in one minute.

Step 3: Boot the locked computer from Windows password recovery disk.

After setting the locked computer to boot from CD/DVD-ROM or USB drive, insert Windows password recovery disk you have just created, and restart the locked computer. Wait for a moment, Windows Password Rescuer Advanced will start up and display an operation full window for you.

Step 4: Reset Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 domain user password.

1. When the operation window appears, select a Windows system you want to reset its user password.

2. Select target user account from users detail pane, and click Reset Password.

If the user which you want to reset its password do not appear at the list, you can use the Add User button to add it to the list, and then reset its password.

Notice: In order to meet the password policy requirement, this software will set the password to Hello@2011 by default. Please remember it.
Now you can click Reboot button to restart your computer. When a dialog box pop up, eject Windows password recovery disk, and click Yes to restart. Or do not eject Windows password recovery disk, Click No to cancel restarting, and then go on resetting windows password.

Tip: If you need you can click Add User button to directly add a new user to your Windows. After rebooting, you can log on your windows with new password.
